Savannah's Nursery

We are T-Minus 13 days until Savannah's due date and her room is officially done!

When I first started working on her nursery, my vision was pastel flowers and I wanted to steer as far away from the cliche "Pretty-in-Pink" baby girl room as possible. Somewhere along the road, that was changed completely but I am so in love with her room and how it turned out.

We started working on her room before we even found out I was pregnant. How? The room was already painted and we already had the crib, dresser and glider from our first pregnancy, with Titan. We started working on his room as soon as we found out I was having a boy around 16 weeks and then we found out about his condition about 4 weeks later. I was so excited to work on his Eagles themed room so we painted the walls gray and were planning on doing midnight green with gray, white and black accents. When we lost Titan, I couldn't bare going near that room, so the door had been closed ever since. Everything in it was a reminder of our precious boy we'd never get to see grow up so it was no longer a happy place.

When we found out we were pregnant again, I was convinced I was having another boy. I figured we would just keep the same theme as before and find a way to honor Titan white doing so. It still took me a few weeks to go back into that room and it was still hard to see all of the things that were once bought with excitement. I almost decided to sell everything and start over, but was reminded by my husband, just how special those things were and how amazing it would be to keep Titan in the room by using those things for our rainbow baby.

Well after doing a blood test at 10 weeks and finding out early on we were expecting a GIRL, I was shocked. My wheels immediately started turning and, of course, I headed straight to Pinterest. I begin scouring the internet for the perfect bedding and curtains and a decor but just could not find anything that felt right.

One Saturday afternoon, my husband and I decided to go out and just take a look around at Ross and he found two pictures in gold frames with pink backgrounds that said "Follow Your Dreams" and "Don't Let Anyone Dull Your Sparkle." As much as I wanted to say pink was not my vision for the room, I knew they were perfect, and thus the pink and gold room was born. I knew I still wanted to incorporate flowers and ended up finding the perfect bedding that had pink flowers with gold dots on Etsy. Everything else just fell into place afterwards.
